2025 Kings Mountain Camping & Hiking
May 16-18, 2025
The troop will be camping and hiking at Kings Mountain National Military Park.
This will be a low key weekend not far from Huntersville with some easy, flat hiking miles for the scouts.
Summer Day trip to the Whitewater Center
June 7, 2025
Half the troop is attending Camp Rainy Mountain at the end of June. For those looking for an alternative June activity, the troop will have a day event scheduled at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. This will be a day trip on June 7th. Each Scout will need to purchase their own ticket for the day.
Historic Williamsburg
July 17-20, 2025
The July camping event will be over an extend weekend where the troop will visit America’s Historic triangle of Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown, Virginia. This month we will work towards American Heritage merit badge and explore parts of colonial America. More information to follow as the plans become more flushed out.
2025 Summer Camp
June 22nd - 28th, 2025
For 2025 the scouts of Troop 97 have decided to visit a new camp for the troop - Camp Rainey Mountain in Northeast Georgia.

The first payment of $215 is due by the 31st of January to secure your spot at summer camp. The balance of $215 will be due by April 15th. Please pay in person at a troop meeting or online.
2026 Philmont
July 26th - August 8th, 2026
Late summer 2026 the troop is headed out west! The troop will spend 10 days hiking in the backcountry of the Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimmaron, NM.
